Frequently
Asked Questions
Who
should attend CIC institutes?
The
CIC Program is for agency and company personnel -- owners,
producers, agents, brokers, underwriters, and marketing
personnel. Participants must be licensed agents,
brokers, adjusters, or solicitors; or have at least
two years of full-time experience in the insurance industry
or as a risk management professional; or have served
for at least two years as a full-time insurance faculty
member at an accredited college or university.
How
much time is involved in each institute?
Each
institute is 2½ days (or 20 hours) of instruction, followed
by an optional 2-hour exam.
Can
I earn CE credit? How many hours?
Each
institute is approved for continuing education credit
in all CE states. CE credit is based on attendance,
not on passing an exam. CE hours vary from
state to state. Check this website's CE Guide for your
state's requirements.
When
and where do institutes meet?
More
than 300 institutes are conducted each year in major
cities throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Go to Registration/Schedules
for locations in your area.
How
much do the institutes cost?
Registration
fees vary from state to state. Check with the state
association in your state for specific information.
