CIC: THE Insurance Professional's Designation

This is the proof. A CIC is recognized throughout the industry as a true professional, as someone who has achieved. The CIC designation means you have the knowledge, personal dedication, and expertise to succeed in an ever-changing, demanding profession.

How to Earn It:

• Take all five CIC institutes or four institutes and one Certified Risk Manager (CRM) course, and
• Pass all five CIC institute examinations within five calendar years after you complete your first CIC examination, or
• Pass any four CIC institute examinations plus any one of the five CRM course examinations within five calendar years after you complete your first CIC or CRM examination.  

After receiving the CIC designation, no further examinations are required. However, to retain it, you must attend at least one of the following programs in its entirety annually:

• Any one of the five CIC institutes
• A James K. Ruble Seminar*
• A Dynamics of Selling program**
• A Dynamics of Sales Management program**
• A Certified Risk Manager course**

*To attend a Ruble Seminar you must be a dues-paid member of CIC or CRM.
