Am
I eligible to take the CISR OnLine courses?
The Certified Insurance Service Representatives (CISR)
designation is the nation’s leading insurance certification
program for insurance customer service representatives
and other insurance professionals. The course maintains
rigorous national standards. Any employee of an agency,
insurance company, or insurance-related business (including
customer service representatives, insurance agents/producers,
and agency managers) is eligible to take CISR OnLine.
Does the online format provide the same quality education
provided by CISR classroom courses?
Yes, the quality of all the CISR courses is excellent,
and numerous studies have proven that online learners
perform as well as or better than their classroom-only
counterparts. However, the CISR OnLine courses are not
state-specific.
Can
I “mix and match” CISR OnLine and
CISR classroom courses?
Yes. Your online class will count toward your designation
just as your classroom courses. Note: The classroom
exam must be taken in class and the online exam must
be taken online.
Will my computer run this course?
Take the free demo/tour. If your computer can run the
demo/tour, you will be able to run the CISR OnLine
course as well. See system requirements for a detailed
list.
How much does a CISR Online course cost?
The registration fee is $149 per course.

- A

Alliance website to take the course.
- Register
(and arrange payment of $149 per course) online
and receive your user ID and password.
- The
student has 30 days unlimited access to the course.
- The
student locates a proctor/monitor and arranges
for this person to be present during
the exam. [In some states, the proctor must register with the Department of Insurance.]
- When
the student finishes the course and is ready to
take the exam, the student clicks
on
a link in the course to log in to the exam site, registers the proctor
and completes the exam. The score and
exam report are displayed immediately upon submitting the exam for
grading.
- The
proctor signs an affidavit, verifying the student’s
identity with a photo ID. [In some
states, the proctor must register with the Department
of Insurance.] Click on Proctor/Monitor to learn more.
- The
successful completion of an exam is required to
earn a designation, CE credit,
or
update credit.
- The
student reports are sent electronically to The
National Alliance. The student
sends the affidavit of exam to The National Alliance for credit.
If I decide not to take the course, may I get a refund?
Cancellation requests received within five calendar
days of registering for a National Alliance OnLine
Education course are eligible to transfer to another
course, substitute an eligible person for the same
event, or receive a full refund. No refunds, transfers
or substitutions are given for cancellation requests
received after 5 calendar days of registering for
a National Alliance OnLine Education course.
How
long will it take to complete each CISR OnLine
course?
On average, if you spend an hour a day, five days a

two weeks. If you average one course every two weeks,
you should be able to complete your designation in
10 weeks. Of course, your schedule will determine the
length of time needed to complete the designation.
Can I print out the course materials for future use?
Yes. We do recommend that you print out the coverage
forms and glossary. Though it is copyrighted and is
many pages, if you like, you also may print out the
entire course for your own use. If you are not able
to print any part of the course, please contact us.
How do I get help if I have a question while taking
the course?
You may request help with the curriculum
by clicking on the "Email Course Mentor " button
and submitting your question. We will respond
within 24 hours.
For technical
support, email cisronline@scic.com. You will receive
a same day response between the hours of 8:30 a.m.
and 5:00 p.m. Central Time, Monday through Friday.
Are the CISR OnLine courses state-specific?
No. To accommodate all 50 states, CISR OnLine courses
are written using ISO forms and endorsements. It is
critically important that you identify which policy
form is used when discussing coverage as well as your
state-specifics and endorsements, to be certain that
you are getting the entire picture of the policy language
since these courses are not state-specific. One of
the objectives of a CISR course is to teach you how
to read a policy and to learn what different conditions
and exclusions are. You will then be able to apply
this information to the policies and state-specifics
used in your offices.
Do I have to take the exam?
Yes, to maintain the integrity of the CISR Program,
a proctored online exam is required. It is also necessary
to achieve a passing score of at least 70 points to
receive continuing education credit, CISR designation
credit, or CISR update credit. However, if you do not

This is important to maintain the integrity
and high standards of the
CISR Program.
