CRM Frequently Asked Questions (page 2)
How
does CRM compare to ARM?
While the two designation programs are complementary,
the CRM Program is a classroom-based program that focuses
on today's risk management issues. CRM offers "hands-on"
practical solutions using the most current risk management
strategies and techniques. While ARM uses a national
testbook, CRM curriculum utilizes a continually changing
notebook based on current world conditions and events.
ARM
is designed to be a self-study, three-part, theory-based
program. Depending on your location, you may be able
to participate in a 15-week study group or classes.
National exams are offered four times a year. Each
of the five classroom-based CRM courses lasts 2-1/2
days. The CRM exam is administered at the end of each
course and is developed on-site, based on the uniqueness
of each course. An
annual continuing education requirement must be met
to maintain the CRM designation.
How
is the curriculum determined?
Initially, an advisory committee of 10 industry leaders
guided the CRM course of study. Now, curriculum task
forces meet regularly to evaluate and update course
content.
How much do the CRM courses cost? Each
2-1/2 day course costs $420; workbook and other class
materials are included.
Will
CICs receive update credit by attending a CRM course?
Yes, if the CIC is a dues-paying member in good standing.
Each CRM course is filed with individual states for
CE credit.
