John Neal*

Bio Detail

John Neal has over 20 years' experience in both analysis and financing of risk. As Manager of Analysis for Risk Management Solutions, he manages a team of ten Risk Management Consultants responsible for supporting Liberty Mutual's Commercial Market Distribution and Service Management Department. John provided analytical support for consulting projects, risk financing design and structuring, finite (financial) insurance products, cost allocation projects, loss analysis, captive support, and industry benchmarking. John has also held positions as a Risk Financing Analyst and Senior Risk Management Consultant. Prior to entering the insurance and risk management field, John worked ten years in the pollution control and medical device industries as a chemical and manufacturing engineer, accountant, and financial manager. John's academic background includes a BS from the University of California, Santa Barbara and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh.

Jay Williams

Bio Detail

Jay Williams is a member a National Faculty and the Online Faculty of the National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research. He is a veteran of the insurance industry, starting his career in 1979. Jay spent 21 years on the agency side of the industry, working in almost every capacity from producer to agency owner. He then spent nine years with the Florida Association of Insurance Agents (FAIA) as a full-time instructor and running their for-profit subsidiary for six years. Jay subsequently served as President of two subsidiaries of Bankers Insurance Group, followed by serving as Vice President at UPC Insurance Company, both in St. Petersburg, FL. He most recently served as the Interim CEO for Applied Client Network, the association of member users of Applied System agency management software. He was instrumental in the successful transition to their new relationship with Smith-Bucklin. Currently, Jay is the VP of Business Development and Underwriting for FHB Insurance, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Florida Home Builders Association. FHB Insurance is a construction risk wholesale/MGA operation. Jay is also a consultant to insurance companies, associations, and industry-related partners. In addition to teaching classes across the country, he serves as an expert witness and a subject matter expert. Jay has been teaching formal insurance classes since January 2000. He began teaching the Florida 200-hour pre-licensing class. While with FAIA/FMS, he taught numerous technical insurance classes. In addition, Jay is a highly respected authority on agency E&O loss control. During his term at FAIA/FMS he served on IIABA's Loss Control Working Group for a number of years. He was a member of the Professional Liability Committee for IIABA that oversees the national Big I E&O programs when he left FAIA in 2009. His experience on the agency, association, and company sides gives him a uniquely rounded perspective on the insurance industry.

William Reedy

Bio Detail

Bill Reedy is President of Performance Partners, an insurance and professional skill training and consulting company headquartered in Seville, Ohio. Bill's special interests lie in Commercial Property/Casualty and Agency-Company relations. He is a graduate of the College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio; is a published author in the area of Business Income and has conducted agency training sessions since 1994. Bill is also an Associate CIC Faculty member and earned his CIC designation in 1993. Bill has instructed in several states over a wide range of insurance topics. Prior to this, Bill was a Personal and Commercial Lines Underwriter and Marketing Manager for Westfield Group, Westfield Center, OH. Bill also served as Manager of Commercial Lines Training Delivery, and was responsible to the Commercial Lines Graduate Development Program. Previously, Bill managed the TAPP program for new producer training at Westfield Insurance. He has also served on the Commercial Lines P&C Licensing Review committee for the Ohio Department of Insurance. More recently, Bill has served as an instructor with the Dynamics of Company/Agency Relationships program for the National Alliance. Bill is an advocate for continuous learning and National Alliance programs. His company and industry experience along with his presentation ability combine to add value and enhance the knowledge, and performance of fellow insurance professionals.

Michael DeHetre

Bio Detail

Mike DeHetre is Vice President of Underwriting for the Select Business Unit at Travelers in Hartford, CT. Mike began his career in the insurance industry in 1993 after receiving his Bachelor's degree in Business from the University of Maryland. He subsequently earned his M.B.A. from the University of Connecticut. Mike received his CIC designation in 2002 and his CRM designation in 2008. Mike traces the path of his career across the United States including Maryland, Colorado, New Mexico, Minnesota, Arizona, Texas, North Carolina, and Connecticut with companies including USF&G, The Hartford and Acadia. He has had the opportunity to watch the growth and development of the small commercial segment in particular from the use rating manuals, to rating disks and dial-up mainframe access, to the proliferation of mobile technologies today. Mike's passion for education has led him to many teaching opportunities throughout his career. He's excited to continue to bring his enthusiasm and commitment to the industry to many more groups in the future.
