Faculty NameElizabeth Rise
Elizabeth Rise began her insurance career in 1975 as an agent for the Burd and Rise Insurance Agency of Halstad, MN. Elizabeth and her husband, Harlan, owned and managed the agency until their retirement at the end of 2008. She is a member of the National Faculty of The National Alliance, instructing at numerous CIC institutes, CISR courses, and Dynamics of Service courses around the country.
Elizabeth has served as president of the Board of Governors of the Society of Certified Insurance Service Representatives (CISR). She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Mayville State University, Mayville, ND. Liz received her CIC designation in 1977.
Elizabeth and Harlan reside in Melbourne Beach, FL, and Miltona, MN. The couple has two daughters and Elizabeth is active in her church and community organizations.
Faculty NameSidney Aycock
Earl Aycock, Jr. graduated from Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi in June 1976 with a BA degree in Political Science. After graduation, he moved to Meridian, Mississippi and began working in his family insurance business that same month. In 1982 Earl received his CIC designation and has maintained it since that time. He now owns the Aycock Insurance Agency, Inc. and has formed with two other agencies, The Insurance Center of Meridian, LLC.
Earl began his teaching career in Sunday school at the First Baptist Church of Meridian, Mississippi. In 1985, he also became a certified flight instructor through the Federal Aviation Administration and has helped many people become certified pilots. The enjoyment and sense of satisfaction he gained from these teaching endeavors ultimately led him to the resolution that teaching insurance would be just as fulfilling. He also realized that in teaching others, the teacher benefits as well.
Faculty NameSamuel Bennett
Sam Bennett is an active retail producer, presenter, and shareholder in Harrison Agency, Inc. of Columbia, MO. He began his insurance career in 1987 and has been an Independent Insurance Agent from the beginning. He has worked with individuals, families, and small businesses his entire career. In this capacity, he has worked in the personal lines, commercial lines, agribusiness and life and health marketplaces. As a result of working with many types of clients, many carriers, and many coverage needs, Sam has grown to understand and appreciate the important ways an insurance professional must work with markets and clients in today's insurance world.
Sam obtained his Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation in 1996. He has taught coursework for the National Alliance in their CISR program since 2000, has presented in their CIC program since 2004, and in 2009 became a National Faculty Member of the Society of CIC. Sam is also a National Faculty Member in the Agribusiness and Farm Insurance Specialist (AFIS) program and is a speaker in the AIMS Society's Certified Professional Insurance Agent (CPIA) program and IRMI's Construction Risk Insurance Specialist (CRIS) program. He has been called upon to offer insurance education in conferences and symposiums across the country over the past twenty years and has provided services to several law firms in the capacity of expert consultant.
