Daniel Fink

Bio Detail

Daniel Fink has 35 years of experience as an Independent Insurance Agent in the Midwest and Southwest. In 2013 he moved from the agency to the company side and has served as Territorial Manager for UCA General Insurance & Pacific Excess. UCA is a program manager for Commercial Property and Liability Packages including Restaurants, Hotels, Condo Associations, and Shopping Centers After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts (cum laude) in Journalism and English from Oakland University, Rochester, MI, Daniel worked as a free-lance newspaper reporter. But then he married into an insurance family and most of his creative writing turned into writing of insurance coverages. He learned insurance from the ground up and helped to grow the family agency eventually managing the commercial lines department and starting a hospitality insurance division specializing in hotels, restaurants, and taverns. In 1999, Daniel returned to his home state of Arizona with his family. He ran his own commercial lines agency for a time and then joined a larger Arizona agency. Since 2004, Daniel has been teaching classes for The National Alliance and state associations including the CIC and CISR programs. He has also spoken at convention and trade associations on insurance coverages, risk management, and insurance topics In 2011, Daniel served as President of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of Arizona and prior to that served on the its board of directors and as chairman of its education committee. Daniel also serves as an expert witness on insurance matters and standard of care assisting attorneys on insurance litigation matters. He has served on the committee to review the insurance agents licensing exam for the State of Arizona. Daniel has been active in teaching, sports, drama, writing, and playing with his grandson. He also likes to attend and work in his local church and working with children including AZ foster kids. His loves include his three children: Andrea (33), Sarah (30), and DJ (27), and his grandson Avery (8). Daniel just married his love and fellow adventurer Dina on Christmas Eve 2015. And with her, they now have 6 grandchildren which they thoroughly enjoy.

Daniel Cook

Bio Detail

Danny started his insurance career in 1993 with Jefferson-Pilot Life Insurance Company. In 1999, he started Cook Insurance Services in Lumberton, North Carolina. He is an active member of IIANC, where he is a board member and an instructor. Danny received a B.S. in Business Administration from Pembroke State University, and a M.S. in Risk Management and Insurance from Florida State University. Additionally, he holds the CIC, CRM, and LUTCF designations. In 2002, Danny received the IIANC Young Agent of the Year award, and in 2009 the IIANC Southeastern Insurance Institute's Education Award. He is also a CISR Faculty member with The National Alliance. Danny is a volunteer member of Lumberton Rescue & EMS which was the lead agency during the Matthew evacuation/recovery efforts. Within his rescue roles, he serves as an EMT, RT (Rescue Technician), Chairman of Finance and a board member.

Michael Patterson

Greg Patterson is the managing principal of Advisors Financial Group (AFG) located in Raleigh, NC. AFG is an independent insurance, investment, and financial planning firm founded in 1983. The firm supports independent financial advisors and insurance agents across the country in implementing planning strategies related to life insurance, business succession planning, estate planning, personal financial planning, and wealth management. Greg works closely with property-casualty agents to help them solve their clients' needs in the life insurance and financial services area. With over 35 years of experience in the insurance and financial services industry, Greg is a life and qualifying Million Dollar Round Table member including Top of the Table qualifications. He holds several FINRA registrations as a Registered Securities Principal and Registered Investment Advisor. Greg has earned professional designations including Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), Certification for Long Term Care (CLTC) and Certified Financial Planner├┐ (CFP). He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from N.C. State University. Greg is a frequent lecturer in the industry on a number insurance and financial planning topics. He serves on several Boards, including the $100 Billion State of North Carolina's Pension Investment Advisory Board.

Jerry Kennedy

Jerry owns and manages an agency in Grand Coulee, Washington. Jerry has long been an advocate of professional continuing education and is a National Faculty member and Educational Consultant for The National Alliance. He earned his CIC designation in 1983 and served as a member of the Board of Governors for the Society of Certified Insurance Service Representatives (CISR) from 1995-2001. Active in the industry, Jerry served on the technical committee of the Independent Agents of Washington and chaired the Far West Agents conference, a technical forum with Insurance Services Office. He currently serves as faculty for IIAA's Virtual University. Jerry was honored by the PIA of Washington/Alaska as "Agent of the Year" in 1994 and served as President of the Association in 1997-1998.

Robert Ray

Bio Detail

Bob Ray, a second generation insurance professional, has been employed in the insurance industry since 1973. A graduate of Jacksonville University, he has also completed insurance-related courses at Crawford & Company, Lumberman's Underwriting Alliance, and the National Institute of Occupational Safety & Health. Bob's career has spanned all aspects of the insurance industry. He began his career as a claims adjuster and property appraiser for Crawford & Company. In 1974, Universal Underwriters hired Bob to develop the Accident Prevention & OSHA Inspection Program for the Florida Automobile Dealers Association Self-Insurance Fund. While there, he served as Divisional Underwriting Manager for the Western Division and Divisional Executive Assistant for the Western & Southern Divisions. During this time, he co-authored "Unicover IV & V," a package policy developed exclusively for franchised automobile dealers. In 1987, Bob assisted in the creation of a new professional liability insurance carrier, RUMGER Insurance Company, later purchased by Great American Insurance Company. He authored their easy-to-read professional liability insurance policies - Pro-Law & Pro-Med for lawyers and physicians respectively. In June 1993, Bob joined National Risk Management & Associates. In addition to providing insurance products and services, Bob frequently testifies as an insurance expert in many states as well as federal courts. His clients have included the Orlando International Airport, Walt Disney's Epcot Center, Commercial Carrier Corp, Nichols Campbell & Morrow (NCM), and several insurance carriers and law firms. He has developed and drafted policy language and state filings for specialized markets including New & Used Car Dealers Package, eBusinessowners & eProfessional Liability, and Insurance Agents, Lawyers and Physicians Professional Liability policies.

Rodney Smith

Rodney is Southeast Region Director for Lloyd's. Lloyd's is headquartered in London and opened the Southeastern office for Lloyd's in Atlanta in late 2010. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a Risk Management and Insurance degree and received his CIC designation in 2006 and CRM designation in 2013. Rodney has over 31 years of Insurance industry experience. He is a prominent national speaker, frequently asked to address industry conventions and Universities. Rodney serves as an instructor at the WSIA courses and is a certified instructor approved to provide CE credits in multiple states. Rodney serves on educational boards and industry committees including the National Insurance Industry Council, Georgia State University School of Risk Management Board, Troy State University School of Risk Management, University of Georgia RMI Board, International Society of Catastrophe Managers, WSIA Education Committee, and the Georgia Surplus Lines Association Executive Committee.

William Reedy

Bill Reedy is President of Performance Partners, an insurance and professional skill training and consulting company headquartered in Seville, Ohio. Bill's special interests lie in Commercial Property/Casualty and Agency-Company relations. He is a graduate of the College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio; is a published author in the area of Business Income and has conducted agency training sessions since 1994. Bill is also an Associate CIC Faculty member and earned his CIC designation in 1993. Bill has instructed in several states over a wide range of insurance topics. Prior to this, Bill was a Personal and Commercial Lines Underwriter and Marketing Manager for Westfield Group, Westfield Center, OH. Bill also served as Manager of Commercial Lines Training Delivery, and was responsible to the Commercial Lines Graduate Development Program. Previously, Bill managed the TAPP program for new producer training at Westfield Insurance. He has also served on the Commercial Lines P&C Licensing Review committee for the Ohio Department of Insurance. More recently, Bill has served as an instructor with the Insurance Company Operations training team for the National Alliance. Bill is an advocate for continuous learning and The National Alliance programs. His company and industry experience along with his presentation ability combine to add value and enhance the knowledge, and performance of fellow insurance professionals.

John Bennett

Bio Detail

John Bennett began his insurance career in June 1977, as an assistant controller with Allstate Insurance Company in Roanoke, Virginia, immediately after graduating from Virginia Tech with a B.S. degree in mathematics. After 9 years in various management assignments with Allstate, John opened the John Bennett Insurance Agency in Leesburg, Virginia in March 1986. While 85% of his agency has been built in personal lines, John has consistently been a top life insurance producer for Allstate in each of his 27 years. He has also been a top producer in the Allstate brokerage business, focusing on retirement planning. In February 2012, John sold his insurance agency in order to focus full time on the retirement planning/financial planning needs of his clients as a financial advisor with Merrill Lynch. John obtained his CPCU designation in 1984, and his CIC designation in 1994, and is currently working towards his Certified Financial Planner designation. John and his wife, Marsha, live in Leesburg Virginia.

John Immordino

John Immordino is a Vice President at Arlington/Roe, a wholesale insurance broker and MGA. His focus is in placing coverage for professional liability, management liability, and cyber risks. John has been placing Cyber Liability insurance for risks since 2004 when only a few carriers offered this product. John is currently the administrator for the Big I Agents Cyber Secure Program which is currently available in over 40 states. John previously worked as an operations officer for an independent insurance agency where he facilitated risk management programs and rounded out accounts. He had also worked as a business consultant in project development, internal controls, management, and marketing. John is a member of the Professional Liability Underwriter's Society (PLUS) and participated in the Midwest Steering Committee. He sits on the IIA of Illinois Educational Committee, the Agent's Insurance Services Board and he is a licensed P&C agent. He received his Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation in 2006, his Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU) designation in 2008, his Certified Risk Manager (CRM) designation in 2010, the Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) in 2014, and the Certified Programs Leader in 2015. John has spoken at numerous functions on the topics of Employment Practices, Directors and Officers Liability, Information Privacy, and Network Security.

Catherine Trischan

Bio Detail

Cathy Trischan has been with the E&K Insurance Group in Eatontown, New Jersey since 1996, and currently serves as Director of Commercial Underwriting. She began her insurance career upon graduation from Rutgers University in 1987. She has worked as a claims adjuster for a major property and casualty carrier as well as in the commercial departments of several large, New Jersey agencies. In addition to her work with E&K, Cathy provides education and consulting services to other agents and brokers. She is a National Faculty member of The National Alliance, speaking in both the CIC and CISR programs. She is a regular presenter for the Professional Insurance Agents (PIA) and other organizations and has taught both pre-licensing and continuing education courses. Cathy has written courses and articles on various insurance topics. A firm believer that one should never stop learning, Cathy holds several professional designations including CIC, CRM and CPCU. She earned her CIC designation in 1993 and her CRM designation in 2004.

Michael Smith

Michael Smith is the co-founder and former President of Global Marine Insurance Agency, one of the largest marine only specialty agencies in the US who represent every major marine insurer. Mike's 38 year career focus has been as an agent and executive specialized in personal and commercial marine risks. Mike is a certified (CE) marine insurance instructor for Commercial Marine Insurance Professional (CMIP), Michigan Association of Insurance Agents (MAIA) and the National Marine Lenders Association (NMLA). Mike's career and boating background uniquely qualify him to instruct on the subject of yacht insurance. Mike began boating as a young boy and has owned or operated various boats of all sizes, both power and sail and has cruised extensively in the Great Lakes and the Caribbean. Mike served on the board of directors of the National Marine Lenders Association and is the past president of the local community sailing program; Traverse Area Community Sailing (TACS) and is a member of the Grand Traverse Yacht Club. Mikes passion for boats and his love of the water are revealed in each of his seminars along with his numerous "war stories" relating to yachting and insurance.
