Personal Lines (PL) Institute

In order to provide Personal Lines clients with the advice and protection they need, an understanding of the essential coverages provided by Homeowners, Personal Auto, and Personal Umbrella/Excess policies is necessary. As state-specific changes are included for the state in which the Institute is conducted, you will understand how state-specific changes revise coverage for your Personal Lines client.

Russell Deaton

Bio Detail

Rusty Deaton's industry experience includes 30 years as owner and principal of Deaton Insurance Agency, a multi-line property and casualty agency, which he founded in 1985. Rusty was a partner in Edmond, Deaton and Stephens Insurance Agency from 1991 to 2002, a leading commercial insurance provider in the Texas Panhandle. Rusty's current focus is crop insurance adjusting. In addition to his insurance pursuits, Rusty serves as Chairman of the Board of First National Bank of Paducah and President of First Paducah Bancshares of Texas. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1984 and received his CIC designation in 1997. Rusty is a member of the National Faculty.

Ross Pearce

Bio Detail

Ross began his career in the insurance business as an agent in 1985 in Santa Maria, California with Farmers Insurance. After seven successful years, he moved to East Tennessee as a District Manager. He was recruited by Farmers to become an employee moving to Iowa as the Life and Financial Services Manager for the state. When the University of Farmers began, he was tapped to lead the training division and helped develop this university into the number one corporate university in the world in 2011. Ross left corporate life in 2012 and took over an agency in Austin, Texas. In 2015 he retired and has been devoting time to training agents and volunteer activities. In April of 2017 Ross accepted a position as Director of Coaching with Contract Coach, a firm comprised of experienced insurance agents and managers whose goal is to help agency's re-shape their business, so that the agency owners can achieve their individual personal goals. Ross earned his Certified Insurance Counselors designation in 1999 and is a National Faculty member for The National Alliance, teaching at the CIC Life and Health and Personal Lines Institutes. In addition to his CIC designation, Ross has also earned the insurance designations of Charter Life Underwriter (CLU), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow (LUTCF) and Consultative Sales Graduate (CSG).
