Sean joined AIG as a Senior Yacht Underwriter in June 2005, and has held several roles related to yacht underwriting and portfolio management at AIG. From 2008 to 2012, Sean was the Director of Yacht for PCG's domestic yacht practice. In 2012, Sean was named the Head of Watercraft, Global Consumer Lines, which gives Sean oversight for the underwriting and profitability of all global watercraft business through all segments.
Prior to joined AIG, Sean worked as a producer specializing in yacht and marine insurance and personal insurance of the affluent including four years of PLI Brokerage as their Yacht Insurance Specialist and Account Executive. Sean is an avid sailor, belongs to various local yacht clubs and has sailed competitively.

Shirley Gordon is Family Office and Client Service Leader with Lockton Private Risk Solutions. Based in Seattle, Shirley leads service teams across the U.S. to ensure our high-net-worth families receive consistently superior service and personal risk management solutions.
Shirley brings a tremendous passion for ensuring that families receive timely and valuable risk management advice and solutions.
Shirley joined Lockton in late 2017 with more than 20 years high-net-worth insurance experience. She has built teams with a singular focus on the client - from in-depth risk discovery, to custom insurance placement, to optimal service and claims experience. She partners with clients and their trusted advisors to understand and define risks and exposures, to perform comprehensive reviews of insurance contracts and programs, and to deliver expert consultation and advice tailored to client's unique personal and financial circumstances.
Shirley proudly achieved her Certified Risk Manager (CRM) designation in 2016.
Faculty NameMark Fredricksen
In his 40 years in the Insurance Industry, Mark D. Fredricksen has made a name for himself in the animal mortality and agricultural markets. In 1986 Mark established Mark D. Fredricksen Insurance Services, Inc., and in 1993 acquired equine retailer Peterson, McAnally and Tabor. In 2007 Mark was acquired by Hub International Insurance Services, a global leader in the Insurance industry completing a merger which created one of HUB' s first wholesale operations.
Mark finds his work most fulfilling when he has the opportunity to work with other brokers who may be unfamiliar with the Agri/Equine marketplace, or have limited access to markets. In these situations, Mark can work as a consultant with Brokers to assist them with form and carrier recommendations.
Some of the highlights of his nearly 40 years in the insurance industry include: earning his Certified Insurance Counselor designation, 1986; being President of the Thoroughbred Racing and Breeding Safety Association; giving expert witness testimony in equine related cases and facilitating carrier seminars.
Mark is also aware of the value of community, be it the community he lives in or the community he works within, therefore he keeps honesty and integrity in the forefront of all his personal and work related dealings.
Faculty NameDoug Johnson
Doug Johnson is the president of JSL Aviation Insurance, a Marsh McLennan Agency, LLC. company. Doug has over 40 years' experience in the aviation insurance industry. His career began in Melbourne, Florida where he was the managing partner of a large regional aviation insurance agency. When that agency was sold to a national company, Doug joined them as vice-president and regional manager of their Atlanta office. He served in numerous capacities for the agency, including national marketing manager.
Prior to the start of his aviation insurance career, Doug spent seven years with a special intelligence unit of the United States Air Force. He is a private pilot.
In addition to authoring numerous articles on aviation insurance, he has served on the adjunct faculty of the Florida Institute of Technology, School of Aeronautics and Brevard Community College. He is also a popular speaker at meetings and conventions.
Doug served on the Business Management Committee of the National Air Transportation Association during the development of the NATA Safety First program. He was instrumental in the design and implementation of that program. He also served as Chairman of the education committee of the Aviation Insurance Association. In this role, he led the development of the curriculum for the newly revamped Aviation Insurance Core Principles and Concepts course offered by the Association as a part of the Certified Aviation Insurance Professional curriculum. He is now one of the lead instructors for the course.
Doug was among the first to earn the prestigious Certified Aviation Insurance Professional (CAIP) designation. More recently, he was awarded the CAIP Gold status for continuing commitment to service and education in the aviation insurance industry. As an insurance counselor in the field of aviation insurance he assists his clients with coordinating and successfully marketing their insurance needs.
In 2016 Doug was awarded the prestigious Pinnacle award which is presented annually to a single individual by the Aviation Insurance Association for outstanding service to the industry.
