Betsy Summerfield

Bio Detail

Dr. Betsy Summerfield, Risk Manager for Southwest Virginia Community College, completed her A.A.S. in Emergency Management from Clackamas Community College; B.S. in Business Administration from Appalachian State University; MBA in Management from Golden Gate University; and an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from East Tennessee State University. She holds the CRM and CSRM designations as well as the Certified Emergency Manager designation with IAEM. With over 23 years of experience in risk management, she has seen the area of risk management increase in responsibility and become an integral part of strategic planning. Betsy has conducted several workshops and served as a speaker at numerous state and national conferences including URMIA, CCBO and the Governor's Conference on Emergency Preparedness. She has conducted webinars, and has published articles on various risk management topics.

David McKinney

Bio Detail

David McKinney, VP, is the Commercial Lines Leader and Account Executive working in IMA's Energy, Renewable Energy, and Ag Practice Groups, responsible for marketing and servicing IMA's Oil & Gas, Renewable Energy, and Ag Clients. He holds both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Safety Management from the University of Central Missouri. David earned his CIC designation in 2004 and his CRM designation in 2000 through the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors. He also holds the designation of Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter, Enterprisewide Associate in Risk Management and is a Certified Safety Professional by exam. David is a frequent speaker and on the National Faculty of The National Alliance. David has published two novels, Crane Creek and J.R. Steele, and a book for his children entitled, Stories of My Youth: A Collection of Stories and Thoughts for My Children.
