Monica Meininger

Bio Detail

Monica Meininger began her insurance career in 1981 at a small agency in Ashland, Kansas. She remained there 4 years and then founded Snell-Nelson Insurance Agency, Inc. in April 1985, where she served as President and CEO for 31 years, writing in Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. Her clients included farm/ranch/ag, small to medium sized commercial, personal lines, and Medicare supplements. In 2017, Monica sold the agency to one of her long-time producers to semi-retire. However, she was asked to remain with the agency and now handles their financial and IT functions for their multiple locations. She now works remotely for Snell-Nelson. In November of 2019, Monica joined ICI in Wichita, Kansas, as a part time Insurance Advisor. Monica earned her Certified Insurance Counselor designation in 1987 and her Certified Professional Insurance Woman designation in 1988. She has been a CISR instructor for the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors for over 10 years and teaches Commercial Property, Agency Management, Commercial Casualty I and II, Personal Auto, and Residential Property. Named as Insurance Woman of Western Kansas in both 1988 and 1990, Monica was also named the Kansas Business Woman of the year for the service industry in 2000 by the Kansas Department of Commerce. She has served as the Zone VI and as an at large director for the Kansas Association of Insurance Agents and has been on their Membership, Trusted Choice, and currently serves on the Education Committee. In addition, Monica also served as the past Chairman and Western Kansas Representative to the Farmers Alliance Agent's Council as well as serving on their Technical Advisory Committee.
