This course, like Commercial Casualty I, strengthens your ability to have productive, assured interactions with your commercial customers in the area of commercial casualty exposures and coverages. In this course the focus is the Business Auto Policy, the Workers Compensation Policy and Excess Liability Policies. You will improve your understanding in each of these areas.

Michael Elliott

Bio Detail

Michael Elliott is a Commercial Underwriting Specialist at Nationwide Insurance in Des Moines, Iowa. Michael began his career as a claims adjuster for many years, handling everything from minor parking lot accidents up to high-dollar construction defect claims. As a commercial bodily injury adjuster, he negotiated personal injury claims with some of the most prominent attorneys in the country. He has handled casualty claims across personal and commercial lines, specializing in general liability, business auto and farm owners liability. As an underwriter, he has underwritten many standard commercial risks all over the United States. Currently, he facilitates training for commercial underwriters on the Nationwide small business team. Michael holds a degree in English and Spanish. He is currently enrolled at Drake University Law School, where he is pursuing a law degree in Compliance & Risk Management. Michael received his CIC designation in 2017. He is also an active member at his local CPCU Society in Des Moines.
