Faculty NameIrene Morrill
Irene Morrill is Vice President of Technical Affairs for the Massachusetts Association of Insurance Agents and has held this position since 1995. She is responsible for the development of education programs and seminars offered in the state of Massachusetts. The technical department has a separate technical "hotline" for member questions. Irene writes a monthly article for the membership on various technical and E&O topics. Prior to her position as Vice President of Technical Affairs, she was Director of Education for the Association from 1989-1995. She started with the Association as an Education Coordinator in 1985 when it was known as PIA of New England.
She has been a member of the National Faculty of both CISR and CIC for over 30 years. She earned her CPCU and CPIW designation in 1983, her CIC designation in 1986, her ARM designation in 1995, her LIA (Licensed Insurance Advisor License) for the state of Massachusetts in 1995, her CRM designation in 1998 and her CRIS designation in 2015.
In addition to her responsibilities at MAIA, Irene is a member of the Massachusetts Association of Insurance Women and volunteers her services for MAIW educational courses.
Faculty NamePaul Burke
Paul Burke has been involved in the insurance industry for over 40 years. The first ten years were spent as a producer before he purchased two agencies, founding Insurit Agency Incorporated in Fall River, Massachusetts. In 1999, Insurit Agency, Inc. and Hadley Insurance Agency, Inc. joined together to form Hadley Insurit Group Insurance Agency, Inc., where Paul serves as President and CFO.
Paul received his CIC designation in 1986 and has been teaching the Elite School, Basic Personal Auto, CISR classes, and CIC institutes ever since. He received his CRM designation in 2001. Paul is a past member of the Board of Directors for the Fall River Insurance Agents Association and MAIA. He served on the Board of Directors of the Fall River Chamber of Commerce. In 2007, he was the Chairman of the Board, and he was Chair of their Legislative Affairs Committee for ten years. Paul has also served on the Board of Directors of the USS Massachusetts Memorial Committee D/B/A Battleship Massachusetts. He presently sits on the Boards of Directors of the Swansea Ambulance Corp., the South Coast Partnership, and The Anthony Quinn Foundation Board of Directors, as Treasurer. He is a Founding member and Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Argosy Collegiate Charter School in Fall River, Massachusetts.
He has more than 35 years on Volunteer Fire Department in his community. He is also a volunteer EMT with the Swansea Ambulance Corp., and he is a certified private pilot. He served on the Towns Advisory & Finance Board for 15 years, its Board of Selectmen for three years, and has been the Town Moderator for 21 years serving in his eighth 3-year term.
Paul graduated from the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth with a Bachelors of Science degree in Finance.
Faculty NameMonte Giddings
Monte Giddings is a native-born Jayhawk who graduated with a secondary teaching degree from Kansas University. After teaching for his own previous principal, and coaching every sport possible in his hometown of McPherson, Kansas, he was lured into the insurance business by the promise of sunny afternoons on a golf course.
Monte entered the industry as an underwriter for Aetna Life & Casualty before becoming an insurance agent. Crossing over to the national brokerage side, he has since toiled at the bygone Fred S. James, the now extinct Alexander & Alexander, and the long-gone Sedgwick companies, all in Kansas City. He has also been part owner of Gliem & Giddings, LLC. Over the years, Giddings has developed an expertise in providing insurance/risk management services to commercial business with an emphasis in working with school districts and municipalities. In 2007 he sold his business to CBIZ, a multi-disciplinary financial services organization traded on the NYSE. He currently serves as the National Public Entity Practice Leader for CBIZ Insurance Services, Inc.'s and is located in the Kansas City office.
Monte loves hard markets, underwriters, and all of his clients. He is the past President of the Independent Insurance Agents of Kansas City. He earned his ARM designation in 1996, received his CIC in 1982, and has been on the National Faculty since 1985.
Mr. Giddings is committed to community service as a past Chairman of the Leawood Chamber of Commerce and currently serves on its board.
