This event is being conducted by the Texas Association of School Business Officials

Participants will learn to implement and monitor the school risk management program, along with communications tools, the risk management information system (RMIS) and processes for delivering resources to the district, such as request for proposal, competitive sealed bids, etc. The establishment of a district code of ethics and ongoing ethics program concludes the course.

William Stone

Bio Detail

Bill Stone is retired from public service after a combined 29 years in municipal government and Texas public education. He is now working for the Marble Falls, Texas firm of Edwards Risk Management, Inc., one of the leading public entity risk management firms in the state. Bill is a licensed Property/Casualty Adjuster in both Texas and Louisiana and works with public school districts in both states. Prior to retirement from public service in 2007, Bill was an assistant superintendent of Business Operations for Keller ISD, and assistant superintendent of Finance and Business for Canyon ISD in the Texas Panhandle. He started his career in public administration with the City of Amarillo, Texas, as a management analyst in 1978, and left there in 1989 to enter the field of public school business administration. Bill has a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Eastern New Mexico University, and received his MBA degree from West Texas A&M University in 1981. He is a Certified Texas School Business Administrator (CTSBA) and earned his CSRM designation in 2007. Bill is a military veteran of the United States Air Force where he served from 1972 to 1976.
