This course covers the risk control step of the risk management process. Participants will study risk control fundamentals, the purpose and elements of a safety and health plan, identification of hazard controls, and effective management of school claims as a post-accident loss control reduction technique.

Bill Tarro

Bio Detail

Bill Tarro is the Executive Director for Risk Management for the Lubbock Independent School District located in Lubbock, Texas. Bill has taught classes in school risk management for the Texas Association of School Business Officials as well as the National Alliance. He has presented programs for the American Dental Association as well as the Texas Dental Association and numerous other professional organizations. Bill began his Risk management career in 1993. He has been the Executive Director of Risk Management for Lubbock Independent School District. He has received two nominations for the Commitment to Excellence award from TASBO and has received the Risk Management Fund Innovation Award from the Texas Association of School Boards. He was the Risk manager of the Year for Texas PRIMA and served as the president of Texas PRIMA in 2013. He enjoys sharing what he has learned with others in hopes that their jobs will be made easier and more efficient.
