Joint and Several Liability

1) Legal doctrine applying in some states that allows an injured person to sue and recover the full amount from any one or more of several wrongdoers at his option, regardless of that wrongdoer’s degree of negligence; 2) in pooling, a legal doctrine making all members of a group or pool jointly liable for group responsibilities and each member individually responsible for total liabilities of the group or pool.
