Dustyne Bryant, MBA, CIC, CISR

Dustyne Bryant, MBA, CIC, CISR is the Personal Lines Academic Director for The National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research. In her role, Dustyne collaborates with National Alliance faculty and industry colleagues to research and analyze Personal Lines segment trends, data, and coverage in an effort to deliver relevant and quality educational content to growing insurance professionals. 

Prior to joining The National Alliance, Dustyne dedicated 15 years to Personal Lines Insurance. She grew through the yearsfrom technical assistant with Regions Insurance, Inc. to Personal Lines Department Leader with Brown & Brown, Inc. of Greater Central Arkansas where she focused on department growth and retention strategies across a multi-office operation. Often referred to as the inhouse underwriter, she has a demonstrated strength in technical comprehension cultivated through working with a vast selection of national, regional, and surplus lines carriers as a licensed agent, account manager, and department leader.  

Dustyne is licensed in P&C and L&H in Arkansas. She graduated from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, obtaining her MBA (2015), B.S. cum laude, Criminal Justice (2011), A.A., Law Enforcement (2010), and Conflict Mediation Graduate Certificate (2015).  She earned her CISR designation in 2011 and CIC designation in 2012. She was named Arkansas Outstanding Customer Service Representative of the year, by The National Alliance, in 2011. 

Sharing her experience, continued growth through education, and encouraging insurance professionals to be ethical advocates and promoters of the industry is what excites Dustyne the most about being in this business.  

Paul Z. Martin, CPCU

Paul Z. Martin, CPCU, is the Director of Academic Content for the National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research. Paul works with Alliance faculty, agents, and other industry professionals to deliver high quality insurance content and education. During his career, Paul worked as a multi-lines adjuster handling everything from workers compensation claims, to car accidents, to oil well blow outs.  He was an underwriter, working on heavy commercial accounts across the Southeastern U.S.  He was a special agent connecting with hundreds of agencies.  He was a company manager at a start-up insurer, and was an independent agency partner in Jackson, Mississippi 

Over the past 25+ years, Paul’s strengths as an educator have come from his experience teaching a wide range of industry professionals at every level of experience, from beginners to successful agency principals.  He understands that different people have different personalities and learning styles and he adjusts to meet their needs.  He also understands that if you’re not listening, you’re not learning, so he keeps his presentations lively and personal to keep participants engaged. While his focus is primarily on commercial insurance, he has in-depth expertise in personal lines, agency management, producer development and sales, as well as how to make ethics and consumer protection education worth the student’s time.   

Paul’s background and experience equips him to do what he loves most, helping people be their best through education and encouragement.
