Introducing you to the talented individuals who are driving The National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research forward and shaping the future of the risk and insurance education sector. We are delighted to spotlight Noelle Codispoti, CPCU, ARM, who serves as the Head of The Academy and Director of Emerging Talent Programs.

The Research Academy, a registered 501(c)(3) corporation, is dedicated to conducting and promoting practice research and publishing insights to the industry. In a recent restructuring announced in January 2024, Noelle Codispoti assumed the role of Head of The Academy, a strategic initiative that aims to take a holistic approach to education, talent development, research, advocacy, and collaboration.

Noelle’s journey in the insurance industry began with a twist of fate during high school. Initially aspiring to become a calculus teacher, her high school calculus teacher redirected her path toward becoming an actuary, sending her to a high school summer course at Temple University between her junior and senior years of high school.

“The class had everything I needed to choose to pursue a career in the industry – curriculum that interested me, speakers who shared their journey, and current college students gave insights on their experience. I applied to Temple that Fall and started full-time after high school graduation.”

As a first-generation college graduate, Noelle obtained a BBA in Actuarial Science and Risk Management from Temple University. Throughout her education, she pursued internships in diverse areas of the industry, including pension benefit consulting, structured finance, international finance, and directors and officers liability insurance.

While Noelle found fulfillment as a D&O underwriter, she realized that her true passion lay in championing talent and promoting careers within the industry. In 2011, she became the inaugural employee of Gamma Iota Sigma (GIS), the international risk, insurance, and actuarial science collegiate society. In her role as Executive Director and later Chief Executive Officer, Noelle implemented a successful growth strategy that led to an impressive increase in both active chapters and student membership.

Under Noelle’s leadership, GIS transformed its annual international conference into the premier event for the industry to engage and recruit top collegiate talent. The conference also became a host site for both the Global Dive In Festival and the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation’s Week of Giving. Noelle’s dedication to the next generation of insurance professionals is evident through her establishment of the GammaSAID Council, a student-led group that fosters understanding, establishes solutions, and shapes the industry’s discussion of diversity.

In recognition of her outstanding contributions to the industry, Noelle Codispoti was honored as one of the 2013 Women to Watch by Business Insurance. Despite her achievements, Noelle’s greatest accomplishment remains raising her three children and nurturing a vibrant and multifaceted life outside the insurance realm. In her free time, she enjoys family activities, sports events, walking her dog named Recchi, reading historical fiction books, and staying active by visiting the gym.

Noelle’s advice to young professionals emphasizes the importance of professional designations and highlights the diverse opportunities within the insurance industry. She encourages individuals to explore their passions, strive for continuous learning, and seek opportunities that align with their values.

We are privileged to have Noelle Codispoti as a part of The National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research. Her expertise, dedication to talent development, commitment to diversity and inclusion, and passion for strengthening the insurance industry make her an invaluable asset to our organization.
