What’s the Difference Between Phishing, Spear Phishing, Fishing, and Baiting?


Every year, cybercrime increases as criminals try to profit from insecure company systems. Attackers are frequently searching for ransom with 53% of cyber attacks resulting in damages of $500,000 or more.

Cyberattacks are harmful and purposeful attempts by people or organizations to infiltrate another individual’s or organization’s information system. Cyberthreats can also be issued with malicious intent or as a sort of “hacktivism,” where attackers seek to destroy systems and data.

Typically, the attacker hopes to gain something from interrupting the victim’s network. Businesses are targeted by cyber attacks everyday. According to former Cisco CEO John Chambers, “There are two types of companies: those that have been hacked, and those who don’t yet know they have been hacked.
